What can I do to get ready for my first fertility check-up?
The initial screening can be done on the day of your visit or on your next appointment. It depends on each individual condition. Basically, you can provide us your annual physical check-up results or your current medication or treatment records of your underlying disease as a part of our consideration on your infertility diagnosis.
A female patient with regular menstruation condition, the best time for a check-up is around the 2nd – 3rd day of your menstrual cycle (please count the 1st day of having menstruation as the 1st day of your menstrual cycle) because it is also the best time for measuring your hormone level. On the other hand, a female patient with an irregular menstruation condition can complete the check-up without any concern to your menstrual cycle. However, the patient should provide a record of her menstruation over 6 months for our evaluation of your ovulation.
A male patient can do the check-up at any time of his convenience. Please refrain from ejaculation for 2-5 days before your visit in order to keep your semen at a measurable level for our analysis on the day of your visit. The shorter or longer time of refraining from ejaculation than above mentioned may effect to the decrease in motile sperm level.
